NGV India Summit is a great initiative that brings all the technology solution providers, OEMs, policymakers and other user groups. We discussed about issues pertaining to current scenario and its lasting impact on the growth of NGV. It was an excellent conference.

NGVs really have good potential to expand, and scale will go up. We have, of course, electric vehicles coming, which will also play a role. So all of this will have a place in the emerging scenario. So natural gas, LNG, and electricity—all three—will find their place in the transport sector. And I am very hopeful that all three will be there, at least for the next 20–30 years. And India has a good future in that regard. But looking at India’s growth, there is huge potential for growth in these current volumes.

The seminar was fully focused on NGV’s as well as the session on hydrogen. As far as H2 is concerned, I feel that H2 will be the first priority for the country and for the transportation sector. In this direction, the Ministry of Petroleum is already taking some initiatives, and they are putting up orders for electrolyzers where the green H2 will be produced.
